THE ROSE HOUSE

Step into the Rose House at Lancôme’s Domaine de la Rose, where nature and architecture harmonize to create a breathtaking symphony. The contemporary pink monolith with a circular entrance inspired by the Lancôme “Ô” was designed by renowned French architects Lucie Niney and Thibault Marca from the agency NeM Architectes. The Rose House was ecodesigned using local, recycled, bio-sourced, and artisanal materials, and has been awarded BDM (Bâtiment Durable Méditerranéen) Gold certification, a label that recognizes sustainable construction projects in the French Mediterranean region.

THE DISTILLERY

The distillery lies at the heart of the Domaine de la Rose, a place which embodies Lancôme’s commitment to sharing perfume-related savoir-faire, including the traditional expertise of steam distillation techniques.

Partially dug into the ground like a cave, the educational distillery is naturally cool. A huge bay window looks out over the heritage rose garden and the fields divided up by drystone terrace walls.

Here, visitors can experience the extraction and distillation processes harnessed by Lancôme to capture the essence of the different rose varieties the brand uses in its product ranges, from fragrance to makeup and skincare.

THE PERFUME ORGAN

Step into the heart of olfactory artistry at the Domaine de la Rose’s Perfume Organ. Here, Lancôme’s master perfumers orchestrate their creations, selecting and combining meticulously crafted essences.

This place of creation and sharing is dedicated to the art of perfumery. Several thousand different raw materials are available, in bottles classified by family, from the most refreshing to the headiest fragrances. This unique Perfume Organ also allows guests to discover the process of crafting a fragrance and gives them the opportunity to experience various scents, including ingredients from the estate.

The Perfume Organ was created by Atelier Gohard, the historical manufacture responsible for the gilding of historical monuments such as the Château de Versailles, the Musée du Louvre, and the Statue of Liberty.
